Plot
I’m a sucker for survival movies, and this one is based on a true story. Imagine going on a family trip to Thailand, thinking Christmas there would be the best thing ever. After opening presents, the family heads to the beach — Dad and two kids go first, while Mom and little Tom Holland plan to follow later.
As they’re chilling by the pool, Mom senses a strange silence, like the world just hit pause. Guess what? It was a tsunami. This movie is based on the 2004 tsunami that devastated Southeast Asia. Watch this movie to see the survival of the people. My heart goes to those who faced this situation.
My wisdom regarding this movie
I’d rate this movie as one of the best in terms of acting and camera work. From start to finish, it’s a gripping portrayal of a true story. I can’t even imagine what people went through during and after the tsunami. The chaos in the hotel, the hospitals, families getting separated — it was a tough watch. Those people were incredibly brave. Watch this movie to see the aftermath of the tsunami and the incredible resilience of those who survived.
