Okay, let’s get one thing straight — I wasn’t watching this series for the plot, the drama, or the other actors (who?). Nope, I was fully and shamelessly focused on the drop-dead gorgeous, ridiculously handsome Idris Elba. Cue slow-motion hair flip and dreamy sigh. Honestly, who could blame me? The man’s practically a walking distraction. The rest of the cast? Um… who? Were they even there? Because all I saw was Idris, Idris, and more Idris. Here’s his look for the series —
Plot
So, as the title screams at you, this series is all about — you guessed it — a plane hijack. It kicks off with Idris Elba, aka our suave hero, boarding a flight to win back his estranged wife. You go get her, Idris! But of course, fate decides to be a total buzzkill, and it turns out to be the worst day ever — like, ‘you thought you were just getting some peanuts and a movie, but nope, hijackers!’ kind of day. And guess what? Idris isn’t just a pretty face; he’s a negotiator. Yep, talk about plot armor. Naturally, he takes it upon himself to save everyone on board, because who else but Idris, right? He’s got one goal: stay alive, reach his wife, and be the hero we all know he is. The whole thing is a total nail-biter — like, I-don’t-even-have-time-to-swoon-because-the-suspense-is-killing-me level intense!
My wisdom regarding this series
This series is short and sweet with just 7 episodes, but don’t let that fool you it’s a full-blown edge-of-your-seat rollercoaster. From the first episode to the last, you’ll be clutching your popcorn like it’s a stress ball. Unlike your usual hijack flicks, this one throws in a twist that totally caught me off guard — like, ‘Wait, did that just happen?’ kind of unexpected. And can we talk about how tough being a negotiator actually is? I mean, I thought it was all about smooth talking and maybe some intense eye contact, but nope! Turns out, it’s a whole lot more stressful than I imagined. Honestly, by the end, I felt like I needed to negotiate with my own nerves to calm down!
