Welcome back, I know you miss my mind-blowing and super awesome recommendations, so here is another one.

Actors which I know and I am assuming you know too

Once again, the casting director deserves a gold star and a lifetime supply of ice-cream. We’ve got three queens leading the charge and absolutely owning the screen: Octavia Spencer, Taraji Henson, and Janelle Monáe. Talk about a power trio, right? But wait, there’s more! Kirsten Dunst joins in, giving us major ‘OG Mary Jane’ vibes, alongside Jim Parsons (a.k.a. grown-up Sheldon), and the ever-charming Glen Powell. This cast is a powerhouse on par with assembling the Avengers — if the Avengers were tasked with, you know, solving real problems. Here’s a sneak peek at their fabulous looks for this movie.

And now you know

Plot

The timeline for this movie? Picture it: pre-moon landing, when Russia was flexing its space muscles, and the Space Race was like an intense, cosmic version of ‘Who’s Got Talent.’ Meanwhile, on Earth, racism was still alive and kicking, with bathrooms labeled like some bizarre, unfunny prank: ‘Whites Only’ and ‘Coloreds Over There, Good Luck.’ And this was at NASA! You know, the place that was about to send humans into space but couldn’t figure out how to share a bathroom.

Enter three brilliant women who were basically human computers — before computers were even cool. One was a numbers wizard, another broke barriers as the first African-American aeronautical engineer, and the third? The Fortran programmer who tamed the beast known as the IBM supercomputer. These queens didn’t just contribute; they were the backbone of NASA’s first mission to orbit the Earth. Watching them crunch numbers while dealing with discrimination was both heartbreaking and infuriating — like, ‘Really, NASA? You can figure out rocket science but not basic human decency?’ But oh, the sweet joy when their brilliance was finally recognized. It was like watching a slow clap turn into a standing ovation, and man, did they deserve it!

My wisdom regarding this movie

As a woman, let me just say this movie was like a big ol’ shot of motivation straight to the veins. We all deal with daily obstacles — like trying to figure out why the Wi-Fi keeps cutting out — but as an immigrant woman, you get the bonus level of challenges. It’s like life decided to throw in extra hurdles for fun. But watching this movie? It gave me that ‘I got this’ energy, reminding me to keep my stance, stand tall, and fight for myself — because no one’s doing it for me, right?

Also, can we talk about NASA relying on human calculators in the pre-computer days? Like, I’m stressed doing mental math when I forget my calculator, and these women were out here doing rocket science! Life or death stuff! Imagine someone telling you, ‘Hey, no pressure, but if your math’s off, someone might not come back from space.’ Yeah, terrifying. And the best part? It’s based on a true story, and those women actually got the recognition they deserved. Talk about an ending that hits all the right feels!

Conclusion

Just watch it~

Thank you for reading!
