Crazy-ex girlfriend
Welcome back, I know you miss my mind-blowing and super awesome recommendations, so here is another one.
Actors which I know and I am assuming you know too
Ladies and gentlemen, let me present to you the powerhouse, the one-woman show, the legend herself — Rachael Bloom! Honestly, she’s probably carrying the entire production on her back like a human backpack. Remember her name, or at least pretend to. Alongside her, there are some other actors… You’ve definitely seen their faces somewhere, but their names? Yeah, no clue. So let’s skip that whole ‘supporting cast’ thing for now and put all our focus on Rachael. Here’s the cast lineup, and yep, they all have faces too
Plot
Alright, folks, buckle up, because this isn’t your run-of-the-mill drama series. You know how in Bollywood, people lose their job one second and then suddenly burst into a full-blown dance routine wearing designer clothes? Yeah, it’s kinda like that. Welcome to the wild world of musical comedy-drama!
The story kicks off with Rebecca (played by the fabulous Rachael Bloom), a badass lawyer in New York, living her best girlboss life. That is, until she bumps into her old flame — enter Josh, the human embodiment of ‘chill vibes,’ just breezing through life. She finds out he’s moving back to West Covina, and what does Rebecca do? Naturally, she makes the completely rational decision to drop her entire luxurious New York life to chase after her ex-boyfriend in sunny West Covina.
But wait — plot twist! He’s engaged. And that, my friends, is where the real chaos begins. Watch the series to witness the hot mess unfold as Rebecca tries to navigate her new life, musicals and all!
My wisdom regarding this series
This was the first American series I watched that had sooo many musical numbers. But as an Indian, I was like, ‘Pfft, this is a regular Tuesday.’ Still, I had a blast watching it. Rebecca dropping her entire life and career to chase after a guy? Totally checks out — sounds like the most reasonable decision ever. I mean, she’s just a girl, right?
But then, as things unfolded, that innocent little move turned into a full-blown, slightly creepy obsession. And honestly, it started making me a bit uncomfortable — like, am I Rebecca? It felt like the show was holding up a mirror, and let’s just say, the reflection wasn’t pretty.
But don’t worry, as the series went on, she started having some serious character growth, and I absolutely loved seeing her figure herself out. Overall, it’s definitely worth the watch… as long as you don’t start questioning your own life choices too much!
Conclusion
Just watch it~
