This Brit series boasts a bomblastic cast that’ll make your jaw drop faster than a poorly balanced cup of tea. Buckle up, because I’m about to name-drop like it’s a red-carpet event.
We’ve got the stunning Sharon Horgan, then there’s Eve Hewson, who could probably make reading the phone book look cool. Fiona Shaw? You know her as ‘I’m-not-dealing-with-your-Harry-Potter-shenanigans’ Aunt Petunia. And Annie-Marie Duff? The original Fiona from Shameless, here to remind you what true acting chops look like.This cast is like the Avengers of British drama, minus the capes but with plenty of emotional kapows! I promise, this is the kind of ensemble that’ll make you laugh, cry, and maybe question your own life choices.
Plot
This series is an absolute rollercoaster and a total must-watch! It starts with five ride-or-die sisters who share the kind of unbreakable bond that makes you wish you had siblings like them. Their lives seem perfect until you meet The Worst Husband Ever. This guy is the absolute worst abusive, manipulative, and cruel to everyone, from his wife to her sisters, and even his colleagues. He’s the kind of person who makes you want to scream at the screen every time he shows up.
The sisters, fed up with his never-ending BS, decide they’ve had enough and plot to kill him. What follows is both hilarious and frustrating as every single murder attempt somehow fails. Seriously, this guy is like a cockroach impossible to kill no matter how many times you try to squish him. Then, just when you think he’s invincible, BAM he winds up dead. Out of nowhere.
The twist? The sisters didn’t do it — or did they? Now they’re the prime suspects, left scrambling to figure out what happened while trying to keep their stories straight and avoid suspicion. It’s chaotic, thrilling, and full of dark humor that will have you hooked from start to finish. This series is a wild ride you don’t want to miss!
My wisdom regarding this series
This series? Officially on my favorites list! The dialogues? Chef’s kiss. The writing? So good it feels like they’ve secretly been eavesdropping on real-life drama. Some moments were so painfully real, I had to pause and think, ‘Yup, people like this exist.’ And you know what? I never want to meet them again.
Let’s talk about the scumbag husband. Oh boy, this guy isn’t just bad he’s a full-on villain. The way he manipulates situations to get his kicks out of other people’s pain? Absolute sadistic garbage. There were scenes so brutal I teared up and screamed at the TV, ‘SOMEONE PLEASE END HIM ALREADY!’
People are messy, and this series doesn’t hold back. It’s raw, dark, and absolutely captivating. Trust me you’ll want to punch a pillow, cry a little, and cheer all at once. Highly recommend this one, folks. It’s a rollercoaster, and I’m here for the chaos!
